Hi,

I'm exploring Atlassian Goals to track OKRs. Is this feature still in Beta?

Is there a limit of goals, projects, and users per organization? (not per team, but per organization using the product).

And what are the recommended ways of tracking key results progress and keeping updates?

From what I know, it's being rolled out gradually. Recently, I saw metrics added to my Jira instance.

The feature is a bit limited since you cannot add more than one metric to the goal, but theoretically, you can add Key Results as sub-goals and attach metrics to each of those.

And as @Tomas Vaicekauskas mentioned, my Medium post on Jira OKRs remains relevant, and you can refer to it for more examples

I'd also recommend trying out Confluence OKR Templates. They are pretty good for drafting OKRs:

Thanks for your reply! OKRs are kind of my thing, too! It's just that we're moving to the third platform in three months... We use Jira to track internal Projects. Now on a mission to investigate if Atlassian Goals would be the right tool to use for OKRs, and connect them with our Projects if needed.

My concerns about this being in the Beta version are that it might have bugs, become a paid feature, or, worst of all, be deprecated.

Also, I'm not very happy with the lack of representation for Key Results. Key Results are not necessarily Projects. And they are not certainly Goals or Subgoals.

I'm already using Confluence whiteboards for the Retrospective and discussing the new OKRs. I've created my own template, which allows me to incorporate useful information from other sources into the conversation.

Oboard seems like a great tool! But, even though it's not costly, I'm afraid I don't have the budget for it right now.

Hi Laura!

The way I have seen it used so far is the following structure:

One Goal per Objective (with measurable Key Results in the description)
Business Unit Level Key Results as sub-Goals
Jira Epics linked to the BU level KR sub-goals

In this way, executives can own the Objectives and report on them quarterly for example.

Senior Leadership can own the BU level KRs and report on them monthly.

Teams "on the ground" can keep working on their Epics and report progress through just the status.

One big benefit I've seen is that if you enable it, teams can see the "goal" that their work rolls back up into. I would suggest allowing Epics to have the field Goals enabled.
