On Data Center, trying to export from Asset to a PowerPoint. Any suggestions?

We are on Data Center.  We have been asked if we are able to export to a PowerPoint.  Currently we have issue information being recorded in an Asset Object Type.  Any suggested Apps?

Exporting data from Atlassian Assets (formerly Insight) to PowerPoint isn't a built-in feature in Jira Data Center or the Assets module. However, there are a few approaches and third-party apps that can help you accomplish this:

1. Use Atlassian Marketplace Apps

Some apps on the Atlassian Marketplace allow you to export data or integrate Jira Assets with external reporting tools. While no app directly exports to PowerPoint, you can create intermediate reports that can be copied into PowerPoint. Some options to explore:

• eazyBI Reports and Charts for Jira

  • This app lets you visualize data from Assets and Jira issues and export charts to files like PNG or Excel, which you can import into PowerPoint.
  • Create reports using eazyBI and export visuals to add to your PowerPoint presentation.

• Better Excel Exporter for Jira

  • Exports Jira and Assets data to Excel, which you can further customize and transfer into PowerPoint.
  • It supports Assets objects if configured properly.

• Custom Charts for Jira

  • While it focuses on dashboards and reporting, you can use it to create highly customized charts and graphs, export them as images, and insert them into PowerPoint.

2. Leverage Automation

• Export as CSV/Excel: Use Jira's built-in export functionality or REST API to extract Asset data into Excel format. From there, you can format the data manually and paste it into PowerPoint.

  • Use Jira Assets REST API to extract object data programmatically if you have advanced needs.
  • Example API: /rest/insight/1.0/object (adjust based on your environment).

• ScriptRunner for Jira:

  • If you are comfortable with scripting, you can automate the process of extracting data from Assets, formatting it, and exporting it as a PowerPoint file using libraries like Python’s python-pptx or Java libraries like Apache POI.

3. Build a Custom Integration

• If your team has developers, you could build a custom integration to fetch data from Jira Assets via API and generate a PowerPoint file programmatically.
  • Use a tool like Python's python-pptx library to create and populate PowerPoint slides with the data.
  • Example:
    • Query Jira Assets via REST API.
    • Process the data in Python.
    • Create PowerPoint slides dynamically and save the file.

4. Manual Workaround

• Export the data from Assets (e.g., via Excel or API).
• Use a template in PowerPoint where the exported data can be pasted and formatted.
• If visuals are needed, create charts or graphs in Excel and copy them to PowerPoint
