How do I change a existing task to a subtask/ child issue?

I have a task as a main task, but need to change it to a subtask/ child issue. How do I do this?

Did you try changing the issue type from Task-->Sub-Task and setting the Parent field to the Task/Story you want it under?

@Natalie Keane are you trying to do this in Jira or Jira Product Discovery?

The reason I'm asking is that there is no concept of subtask and child issue in Jira Product Discovery (these exist in Jira).

Soon users will be able to add hierarchies in Jira Product Discovery.
