backup all data from Trello

Dragan Zlatkovic

dear, I tried to find a way to backup all data from Trello. I would like you to help me and tell me if it is possible to set the backup to be done automatically (once a week, once a day/at the end of the day) on my computer.

thanks in advance

Hello, Dragan

As for personal backups, we’re definitely pro-data-portability and want to make sure our users can access and export their data. However, to clarify, it's not currently possible to re-import a manually exported board back into Trello.

If you're interested in a third-party solution, there is the Backups for Trello Power-Up, which you can check out here: https://trello.com/power-ups/5f68db5b510db84238769710

For a more native option, Trello has an export feature, available under the Board Menu > Print, Export & Share. The format is JSON, which lends itself well to technical usages but doesn't load into common programs like Excel. As you mentioned, you are already using this JSON file.

Alternatively, on Trello Premium boards, you can export board data as a CSV directly from Trello. That can be opened in any desktop spreadsheet program.

Notice that neither export option can be reimported into Trello, so it is primarily for people who want to crunch the data with their own programs or just back up their data in case of an emergency.

You can also export all the boards within your Workspace by following these steps: Exporting data with Trello.

Please let me know if this raises any more questions.

Kind Regards
Alisson
