Are you using an app for test management, or do you use a native issue type you created?
If it's an app look at the apps documentation, or contact their support department.
Or specify the app here if used, community members might no the app and the option to do this.
Using Jira as test management tool
Can you share screenshots.
If you simply use Jira ootb issue type, use the clone option and then do a move of the issue.
These a 2 ootb function in Jira.
