Hi there. In automation, how do I add an item to an existing checklist?

Hello

I'm successfully moving a card from one list to another, and I want to add the moved card name to a checklist on a master card.

Here is the rule snippet:

when the dark green "moveToCompleted-DC" label is added to a card, add item "{cardname}" to checklist "BobsTasks"

I've added this command to existing working rules, and also created a stand-alone rule, but nothing seems to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

hey @Ric Hardford I think you're missing the action to find the master card and update the checklist there.

You'll need to go to cascade and use the find action to find the master card.

Not only was it was a surprise to receive such a swift response, but to receive it from you - I have great admiration for people such as yourself, who figure out how things work, and then share with others. I also like your delivery, you make it easy to follow and understand.

Recently I added your 'Keep Me On Top' tip - works a treat, thank you.

OK, to my problem

* Here is my rule:
when the dark green "moveToCompleted-DC" label
is added to a card,
add item "{cardname}" to checklist "StormeSongs",
remove the dark green "moveToCompleted-DC" label from the card,
add the dark orange "* Doug" label to the card,
and move the card to the top of list "Incoming" on board "9, SongsCompleted"

Everything works, except for the addition of the cardname to the existing checklist.

I was assuming a checklist is a global variable, and that when you make a change in one place, it reflects in all the other instances? But are you saying I have to find the Master card, open it, then update the checklist in the card?
