How to name and use Components

Should the component name be set as every application name, or the services of different application? If it is later, then what should we type in for the classification in the Jira issues? 

 

It seems that there are many overlapping between labels, components, and classification. Is it worth to implement component for projects?

Hi Ky,

Components can only be created/added to a project by a project administrator. And when used, the user must select from a list of the Components. And they only apply to that project. 

Labels are more universal and can be used across projects. However, it is easy to create labels with typos and the labels are case sensitive - so the same label might get created multiple times with different capital letters or misspellings. And they can be added by users with simple edit permissions. 

I don't like to use labels for the above reasons. I like to have better control with the Components.
