Including brackets in an external link?

When I use this in Wiki Markup it doesn't work because the link contains brackets - see [Author]

[John Doe|http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed?term="Doe J"[Author]\]

Does anyone know how to make this link work?
