How do I keep the WYSIWYG Editing off?

I don't like that the new format double spaces when I hit return.  I also always follow this link

to disable it so I can avoid the double space and also when I copy past the text in the new WYSIWYG editing into a basic editor without formatting it does not keep the lines or returns separate and blends all the lines into one.  This is why I have to turn it off so when I copy past it the old way, the returns are there and the lines are not blended together.  I would love to be able to achieve this in the new editor, but I can't find a way.  Any suggestions?

Welcome to the community

If you press shift + enter instead of just enter, this will create a single line like the old editor, solving this issue.

As you mentioned the labs link can disable or enable the old editor in case you want to change.
