Notification when user updates JIRA

Michael Stewart4

Is there a way to get notification (outside of Watch list) when a user updates a JIRA or is assigned a JIRA?

Have a look at the notification schemes - you have a lot of options there, over and above "watcher"

where do I find notification schemes?

Oddly, there's some documentation on it - https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Creating+a+Notification+Scheme
