label colour and label order

This is insane, when I edit the label names as suggested, the labels are sorted in the right order: 1,2,3. As soon as I change the colour though from red being 1, oragange being 2, yellow being 3 and 4 being green/done which is the utmost basic normal traffic light way of labelling anything as regards priorities, the label order is reversed exactly the other way round again.

@atlasian Please make the labels at least order alphabetically! Then everyone could control the order by having some number prefix, like `1 High`, `2 Medium`, `3 Low`.

Unfortunately, right now, there's no way to reorder the labels; it was suggested internally but is still being considered.

Thx for your response, Allison. I don't understand why such a basic organisational feature hasn't been implemented straight away from the beginning.

Online work is only efficient when categorising and sorting cards, tasks, emails, tabs, bookmarks, i.e. anything works flexibly at all ends.

I would also really need this feature as it disorganises my process layout. An alphabetical ordering should not be too difficult to implement.

Looks like the labels have now gone from displaying alphabetically to some new algorithm based upon usage. Way to increase the workload of hundreds of users trying to quickly assess impact by now having to search for your label in some funky order.

I'm not sure what happened but at our organization, the labels have now gone back to displaying alphabetically. Perhaps due to the "upgrade" we just had? Now there are a bunch of other changes that have taken us backwards.

At the moment, the label order is dictated by the label colour.

I am looking into extending the feature set of my Power Up Reorderable labels (https://trello.com/power-ups/683ec582447a77eafb9ad521/reorderable-labels) to show reordered labels as card badges on the card in the preferred order. Ping me if you are interested so that I can double-check if the solution would help you.

The caveat of the solution is that the native labels would still be shown. You can hide the text by pressing the ";" key on your keyboard, but the colour indicators stay shown.
