What's the different between hide the field in field configuration scheme and remove from screen?

Jirong Hu

To remove the field from seen in the screen, do I have to do both?

Nic Brough -Adaptavist-

You do not need to do both.

However, they do different things, and it's worth explaining, so you can choose which option is better for you.

• If you remove a field from a screen, it still belongs to the issue and can be seen and manipulated on other screens.  You can report on it, search on it and so-on.
• If you hide a field in the field configuration, it will be totally hidden, you'll never see it on that issue type, even if you put it on a screen.  You won't be able to search for it or report on it (Even if it has data before you hide it)
