How to make resolutions non-mandatory field

Hi

On my JIRA instance resolution field is mandatory by default.

I have checked the workflow and it is not becoming mandatory from there. I also checked the field configuration and there is no option to choose Optional/Mandatory for resolution field.

Can anyone please suggest from where the mandatoriness is coming from? How do i make it non-mandatory?

What version of JIRA are you using?

Also, on what screen are you getting this?  You have not added Resolution to a Create or Edit screen?
