How Can we Export and Import Jira Users and User Groups from DC to DC

Question

We are planning to migrate the Jira DC to DC, we should migrate the users and groups prior migration. How can we export the users along with passwords from source DC or DC database  to csv and how can we import this csv file into target DC or DC database.

1) Connect target Jira to the source Jira as a user directory, see:

* And specifically: https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/connecting-to-crowd-or-another-jira-application-for-user-management-938847056.html#ConnectingtoCrowdoranotherJiraapplicationforusermanagement-jiraConnectingJiraapplicationstoanotherserver
* make sure the directory is configured as Read-Only in the target Jira
* synchronise the directory pulling in all users from the source and their groups

2) Install User Management for Jira app on evaluation license, go to Bulk User Actions, find users you need to copy, select in bulk, use "Change directory" action, choose internal directory as the target, choose "Copy" option.

3) Disconnect/Disable the directory created in (1)

4) Enjoy.

Why not using directly the backup/restore instance feature ?

Your instance DC 1 backup can then be restore on your DC2 and user accounts and groups are comimg also as it is internal account
