Link to Local Files

Hi,

How to link a local file has been largely discussed, but I can't understand why, even if I've downloaded the extensions for Firefox and Chrome, it doesn't work.
Can you explain me a simply way to use it?

Then, where do I put the [file//...]? In Link Advanced?

Hi Irene,

Depending on which browser you're using you have to use different file:// notation. See the examples on this page. Testing locally, this worked perfect for me:

I tested on Chrome, using Confluence 5.1 and the chrome extension. I followed the instructions to use file:////<location>

After saving the page, clicking the link, Chrome showed me the contents of the log file I linked to. See screenshot for details on my implementation.
