Had a JIRA install up and running, but messed it up. Uninstall did not work, so removed the folder. did a new, clean install, but it won't run anymore.
Any ideas on this?
Hi Maarten,
look here: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-24468
Cheers

On this kind of case, the recommend way is to contact Atlassian support trough this site https://support.atlassian.com.
You would get the appropriate method support from there from Atlassian support engineer.
If you would like to troubleshoot yourself, you might want to check this following file
The above files might give you some clue on what happen on your instance. You might also want to check JIRA knowledge base to check if there are any known issue related to your case.
Hope it helps.

What does the log file say?
Seems that you haven't remove the previously created Windows service. You might want to delete the previously created service or create a new one with a different name.
Hope it helps
Seems you have a service with the same name. Looks like you removed the folder but forgot to delete the windows service!
Well, in my attempts of trying and trying i just removed the last version, so no log file.
I can only do the install 1 more time, recreate the bug and check them then. Will do that, but will take a while...
Good thing i'm an idiot, because it did not take long at all!
this is the log file:
[2012-01-05 15:50:24] [info] Commons Daemon procrun (1.0.5.0 32-bit) started[2012-01-05 15:50:24] [info] Service JIRA050112154923 name Atlassian JIRA[2012-01-05 15:50:25] [error] The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.[2012-01-05 15:50:25] [error] Failed installing 'JIRA050112154923' service[2012-01-05 15:50:25] [error] The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.[2012-01-05 15:50:25] [error] Commons Daemon procrun failed with exit value: 7 (Failed to )[2012-01-05 15:50:25] [error] The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name.
You want to do SC DELETE <servicename> before you install again
the service name is the name shown when looking at the service properties.
There was 1 service under the Services menu in Windows. I was not running. I started it, and now it works again.
Hopefully it will work even after a reboot, when Services are started...
