How can I reply to a Jira comment?

Hello everyone,

our team has an issue in Jira comments. If we discuss multiple topics related to the same issue, the comments become messy and it is quite difficult to understand whether a comment is related to one comment or another. We decided to create a Confluence page for each sprint. We add Jira issues to this page and then add and respond to comments on this page, but switching between Confluence and Jira is not convenient for us.

Do you know of an alternative way we can reply to a comment in a thread and follow a simple discussion in a Jira ticket?

while atlassian is working on the feature request and you are ok to achieve it through 3rd party app. you may want to try our ThreadWave Comments for Jira | Atlassian Marketplace

this supports JSM customer portal too

1. It supports threading in jira software, JSM(internal & public comments) also this supports threaded comments in customer portal too

2. You can define templates with dynamic variables, etc..
