WIKIDEX LOGIN ISSUE

Hi Team,

Recently our support from Atlassian has been expired. Most of the users are facing issues logging into the wikidex portal. the most common error saying, ERROR OCCURED TRYING TO LOG YOU IN,PLEASE TRY AGAIN.

Is there a way we can get this sorted?

You will probably want to read the server logs - it's likely that the message here is only giving you part of the story.

However, it is telling you some of it.  The LDAP server is not responding to your calls to it.

As the first test passed, it is unlikely to be a network connection - the first test is a simple "can I find the LDAP server and have it respond", but that's only the network route to the server.  The problem is that the service is not responding, and that could be down to a number of things, including

* It might not be running
* It may be configured to not respond to the Confluence server
* And the one I suspect to be most likely:  We get the same errors when an Atlassian server is trying to connect to an LDAP server over a HTTPS secured connection, and it does not have a valid certificate installed

You'll need to debug this connection to the LDAP server.  The Confluence log may contain more (often it will include things like "no valid certificate"), but you may have to test it from the Confluence server by hand to get useful error messages back

Hi Thank you for the response Nic,

when tested the remote directory connection, it produces the attached error.

Would you please suggest it it the root cause.

The first thing to do is get your server administrators to read the log files.  The first one to look at is <confluence home directory>/logs/atlassian-confluence.log.   The best thing to do is have them tailing the log in one window, while trying to log in in another window, that way they'll immediately see the error flow up the log screen.

The error there is going to tell you what the problem is.  The error message you have given us usually (but not always) implies that Confluence is having problems connecting to the user directory service, but the only way to be sure is to read the application logs.
