I would like to pop up a custom notification message after 1) a workflow transition is completed and 2) an issue is cloned. Is there an add-on that helps accomplish this?

If we could get a "How" to this answer that would be great.  Is there built in functionality?  All I know is that we have to use javascript within our code to update the JIRA UI.  If there is a way to bypass using javascript and just use groovy that would be superb.

My trial for ScriptRunner expired, I would be happy to purchase a license - but would I need developer skills to do this, or can a relative novice make their way through ScriptRunner's options?
