Spacer Gadget is not working at all in JIRA?

This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Using the Wallboard Gadget

The gadget is not working at all.

The edit button doesn't pop up anything. Its just a blank.

Same problem with JIRA v7.1.8.
