Aggregate effort (story points) up to Advanced Roadmap issue level

Hi. Is there a way I can understand (in dashboard or otherwise) in Jira where effort investment is going for our department against levels higher than Epic?

For example, we have Advanced Roadmap hierarchy of Programme > Initiative > Increment > Epic > Story / Task > Subtask. The Story Points are against Story / Task level and can get the aggregated points to Epic level but can't seem to find a way (or appropriate JQL) to get the aggregation up higher to, say, Initiative level.

It seems like a straightforward requirement to give high level distribution of effort against our strategic work items.

Hi @Barry Coll 

 

In AR, you can add the Estimates field in the view, it will use Story Point if it's what you have configured in the Scheduling settings of your Plan, it's only available for Scrum data source, not Kanban.

 

Then in the view you can go to View Settings > Roll Up > Others.

 

This should display the aggregation from bottom to top with and arrow when the value is calculated.

 

This value only live within AR.
