How to display count of Zendesk tickets on a Trello card?

Question

We are interested in connecting Zendesk to Trello and would like to display the count of Zendesk tickets on a Trello card in a given list.

More specifically, upon creation (submission/save) of a Zendesk ticket in Zendesk, we would like for this to be translated into the assignee's given Trello card.  We have tried using existing functionality, however, total Zendesk counts do not appear to show on the Trello card accurately.

We understand Zapier may be an ideal tool to use and would like to know if anyone else has used Zapier to connect Zendesk and Trello.  Has anybody done this before and to what extent?  Any results to share?

As a separate question (see screenshot below), would anyone know if it is possible to show the total ticket count from the Zendesk view in Trello on the front of a card?

Connecting Zendesk and Trello using Zapier should be very straightforward. However, Zapier has become big and complacent, which in turn means expensive.

I recommend Make.com as an alternative.

My experience is that Zapier is the easiest to use but is more limited in capability than Make.com
