🍂🎃 Apptoberfest discussion: apps for DevOps ∞

Kelsey Van Scoy

Hi Community! It’s time for the third discussion in our Apptoberfestivities: apps for DevOps ∞

Atlassian Marketplace Partners offer plenty of powerful DevOps apps to help teams work better together throughout the software development process.

What we want to know is, what are your favorite apps for DevOps and why?

I'll start with Git Integration for Jira. This in my view is a "swiss army knife" to integrate ANY git server tool (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps) with Jira

David Berclaz (Apwide)

Hi @Kelsey Van Scoy

Thanks for starting this DevOps topic!

At Apwide, we only ask our developers to insert the Jira issue ID in their commits. They don't have to transition any Jira tickets - all is automated:

Continuous integration is building, auto-testing and deploying to the target test environment
The related Jira tickets are automatically updated, so that we see all the deployments linked to any Jira ticket
We know at any time - and in Jira - what versions are deployed in our Test Environments thanks to our dashboards

Because a Loom is always better than a long text, I've recorded a short video:

If you are interested in the Release/Deployment Management topic, you'll have to watch Guillaume's talk at JiraCon23, it was published today on YouTube -> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haZOuSLdoZA

Let us know what you think about it!
Happy Apptoberfest!
