Setting the default value in issue type system field

Question

We need to set the default value in issue type drop down list in create screen which is not a custom field but it is a system field. How to achieve this? Is it possible through some configuration or through coding? And if it is through coding, we need a solution without any third party add on.

In addition to what @Marc -Devoteam-  Please also be aware for the following important points -

* In JSM project, users use "Request Type" setup to access issue creation window via the portal or project UI.  Each "Request Type" is based on an issue type.  So if you manage your request types properly, then you don't have to be concern with your issue types used within a JSM project.
* In JSM project, are you stating that users are using the project UI and not portal UI to create his/her issues?  If so, the preferred route is to always using the portal UI to create issues by accessing the Request Types listed.
* Using the project UI to create issues is suited for Jira Software Application projects and not typically for JSM projects.

You can achieve this by modifying the issue type scheme used in the project.

If you use that scheme in multiple projects and you don't want to impact them all, create a new issue type scheme and set the default issue type.
