I was working on closing a 'Client issue' type ticket and clicked on some other tabs turning it's status into 'Convert to CR'. Is there a workaround to close it? Or undo?

it depends on your workflow if there is transition to move issue back to previous status, check with your jira administrator they should be able to help you.
