How can I add a fix version description to a filter?

Question

We are archiving our fix versions so no one can add to it after it is released, but our developers still want to be able to see the fix version and it's description, so I want to create a filter for them. Is it possible to pull the fix version description?

When I say Developer, I mean my software developer, not the Jira Developer.

Even once archived, you and your developers can easily access it via the JIRA APIs.
