@mentions only knows part of the users

Hello everybody,

recently we noticed that our Confluence only knows a subset of users when you're inserting an @mention.

As described in Rebuild the Content Indices from Scratch, I tried to

• rebuild the search index through the admin interface
• rebuild the search index from scratch

None of the two made a difference.
Is there anything else I could try?

Ah, this was definetely a user error caused by a difference in @mentions between JIRA and Confluence.

• JIRA: suggests users when starting to type the username (e.g. jsmith) and the real name of the person (John Smith)
  
  
• Confluence: suggest users only when starting to type the real name of the user. Typing jsmith results in "no user found"
