We would like the page to clearly display who is allowed to view and who is allowed to edit.
There is no macro that will do this (although someone else might know of one that's available in the Marketplace).
Workaround:
There is a Users macro that displays the members of a group. If you set up View and Edit groups then you could use the Users macro to show those on each page.
However, you'll have to create a new group for every unique set of users.
As an example, if you have 5 pages, and each page has a unique group of users who can view that page, you'll need 5 groups. If each of those pages also has a unique group of users who can edit that page, you'll need another 5 groups as well.
But, if you have 5 pages and the same group of users can view all of them, you'd just need the 1 group (and likewise if the same group of users can edit them all).
