Issue navigator sort by project

Apparently, in JIRA 6, Issue Navigator is using the PID to sort by project in a query like "issuetype=bug order by project", not the project name. I have an output where BC comes before BA, where BC and BA are the first 2 letters of the project name.

Is this a known bug and any workaround?
