I use AR, because:

It gives me a good overview of a project progress, especially if it is at 1 year long
Clear visibility of major deliverables and broken down work into team level activities
My manager wants to know where we are and if we are behind the schedule
We do not use PMO support, and they have their own tools to monitor and control projects.

I prefer AR, because:

Easy to start
Basic training required if I want to share with other users.
