In Jira, the ability to view a user's profile summary depends on the user's permission settings and the permission settings of the user who is trying to view the profile summary.

By default, any Jira user can view their own profile summary, which includes their user details, activity stream, and recent issues. However, to view another user's profile summary, the user must have the "Browse Users" global permission, which is typically granted to users with administrative or manager-level access.

If a user has the "Browse Users" permission, they can view another user's profile summary by clicking on the user's name or avatar and selecting "View Profile" from the dropdown menu.

If you are using a third-party plugin such as User Profiles for Jira, the permission settings may vary depending on the specific plugin. However, in general, the plugin should respect the same permission settings as the native Jira functionality.

If you want to restrict the ability of certain users to view other users' profile summaries, you can modify the "Browse Users" permission or create a new permission scheme that limits access to user profiles. Keep in mind that modifying permission settings should be done carefully, as it can affect the ability of users to perform their necessary tasks in Jira.

yes I am asking about the user profile information , that appear when you click on the assignee/ reporter name for example . not just when you hoover over to his/her name .

The plug in I'm using for the Jira service management , data center is the "users profile" plug in .

so my question is : Does User Profile require admin permission to view the user information when you hover over the report or assignee name? (Information is not exclusive for email & username)?

@Eman Alfaour -

Can you clarify what do you mean by "Summary of a user profile"?  Are you asking who has access to an user's profile information?

In addition, you also mentioned a Jira plugin?  What plugin are you referring to?

Please advise.
