How do I create a user defined measure using my uploaded excel sheet

I have uploaded an excel spreadsheet and it is valid and working. Now I need to create a User Defined Measure that will use that data from excel. All of the tutorials I can find show how to write formulas and use the JIRA defined Data but not the uploaded data
