I read that you can do this by going to Space Tools - General configuration - groups but I don't have General configuration in my Space tools.

Hello @Gina ,

Only Confluence Administrator can add Users and Group and assign users to group.

If you are Confluence Admin, Follow below steps:

1) Go to User Management

2) Choose Groups in sidebar

3) Choose create Group button

4) Choose to add to add members in the group

5) After that you can give space permission directly to particular group.

@Gina You need to reach out to your Confluence Admin ask them to add you in the Administrator group.
