How to change Jira User story status from Discarded to inprogress

I have marked one user story as discarded , Is it possible to change it status to Todo

Everything depends on the workflow of that user story because workflows are typically customized differently in each organization by your Jira admin.

The status change (transition) must be allowed in the workflow. Check your workflow or talk to your Jira admin if it's not you to understand your wokflow better.
