Splitting a description into cards

I have generated an email from one system into trello and the email is creating a description in the card.  The description contains multiple links and each link I would like to turn into separate cards.  Any suggestions on how I can parse the description and convert it into cards or a checklist using automation would be greatly appreciated.  Here is how the description is coming through in Trello:

[NAME OF LINK](URL)

[NAME OF LINK](URL)

What I am looking to do is have a new card automatically created and so I would end up with two cards if the description looked as it does above.  Thank you to all who offer help!

If the number of links are fixed you can probably do it using wildcards like {*}[{*}]({*})\n[{*}]({*}){*} for card with description starting with the above. Wildcard 2 and 4 will give you the contents in the []
