How to change the DESCRIPTION of a Locked Custom Field (Sprint)

Hi there,

as a JIRA admin, I want to change the description of the custom field "Sprint" (which is a JIRA default field and therefore locked). The description was changed with some language pack to German and I would like to have it English with an addition hint as (only use for ...) description only.

Welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, there is no straight-forward way to update the locked fields.  These need to be unlocked first and involves updating the settings in the database level.
