Can I create a team or group in Jira Data Center then tag them in @mention comments?

After reading through posts, it appears this is not possible in Jira Data Center 9.0.1:  I want to create a Team or Group in Jira Data Center that I can then tag in Comments so they call get notifications (I don't have to tag the same multiple people over and over.)  It looks like this is not possible in Jira Data Center.  Can anyone comment.

For anyone returning to this in 2024, I just trialed it and there were definitely some problems with it

The major one and why I had to disable it after 4 hours was that it broke the activity stream gadget.

Minor issues were that the 'suggested' groups would not scroll, icons did not load, if you were typing in a group and then regular text and pressed enter at any time it would change to whatever group in the suggestions you last hovered over, config didnt allow me to remove groups from selecting (I DO NOT WANT USERS TO PING ALL JIRA)... and more

Great idea, unfortunately breaking other things we already use is a no-no

No, I don't know. I have not used the app. The information is probably in the documentation for the app, though.
