Get transitions for all tasks in project

Would somebody be able to assist in helping lead me to getting a list of all tasks/sub-tasks in a project and their transition history?  I am trying to track the status of each task/sub-task from To Do to Done.  I am trying to use the REST API to import the data into Power BI, but I am running into issues.

The REST APIs of Jira Server can't do all that 'in one go'... you'll have to break it down into steps.

1. Get all the tasks in the project. This will contain the information as to which tasks have sub-tasks (children) and the ids of those sub-tasks

2. For every task that has a sub-task, get the worklog of each sub-task and parse it to find whenever the status of that sub-task changed from To Do to Done.
