Allowing Clients to edit workflows

Is there a setting that I can enable for Clients to be able to edit workflows?

What do you mean by "clients"?

You wouldn't want customers or developers altering workflows, only scrum masters, team leads and admins. "clients" implies "customers".

Not on Server/Data Center. If you're on Jira Cloud, you could set up Team-Managed projects so your clients acting as project admins could customize their own workflows.

Ok, at a project admin level, yes, there is a limited function for this.

It's actually a team-lead / scrum-master level, rather than project admin, as it's done via Agile boards rather than project, but your Jira admins can enable it.

First, find a suitable board - a lot of boards have a 1:1 relationship with a project, but that is not essential, you can include many projects in a board.
Check that all the projects in the board are configured to use the same single workflow for all of their issue types.
Get one of your Jira admins to go to the board and click on "simplify workflow"
Your board admins will now be able to edit the workflow, by adding and removing columns (status)

Be aware that simplified workflows can not have any clever functions in them - No validators, conditions, post-functions etc.
