Integration with Tufin

Question

Hi community

I am interested in integrating Jira service management with Tufin in order to automate firewall access requests. The idea is to record the firewall rule request in Jira and then pass this to Tufin.

-  I have seen that there is no available connector for Tufin.

-  On the other side, Tufin has an API which can be used for performing this automation.

I have no experience in this area, so I am asking for hints from people who have more experience than me

I don’t know Tufin, but if you need to send requests to some REST API, you can use

* Jira webhooks, but usually it is not enough, because you can’t customize it much and work with the response
* use some application like ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira, it depends on, when do you need to send the request, which data, how do you need to work with the response, how do you authorize …

Welcome to the community.  Since I don't know more in regards to Tufin, I believe you can setup an Webhook on the JSM side, then you can send the issue's JSON payload to the targeted application.

Afterward, you will need to create custom coding to parse the JSON payload and conduct your activities in Tufin.  NOTE - the custom coding development is outside of your JSM env.

Lastly, you should contact Tufin vendor to obtain their assistance on integrating with JSM.
