Table rows with versions are sorted incorrectly

Hi all,

We have the following issue. We have a table, one of its rows contains different versions of our product. When we sort it in a descending order we have the following issue:

version 11.10.0, which is our latest, is not placed on top, above 11.9.0 as it should, but instead goes between versions 11.1.0 and 11.0.0.

Do you know why this issue occurs and how we can fix it?

Hi Dima,

This is normal behavior I guess. Sorting between whole numbers and decimals numbers are slight different.

I checked this in Microsoft excel as well. Confluence and Excel show same results when sorted.

For anyone with the same problem reading this, we found the following workaround in another forum: "The problem is that some of the expressions are numbers for Excel, and some are texts. Put a ' operator in front of those with no or 1 decimal point. It turns them into texts, and then they are sorted exactly as you wish."

We solved this by putting 'v' in front of the version number.
