How can I move values from one field to another using bulk change for a few hundred issues at once?

Hi everyone!  It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I wanted to ask if/how I can do a bulk change for a hundred issues by moving field values from one field to another?  In excel it’s super easy and called ‘seeding’.  Surely, there must be a way to do this is Jira, right?

It can be done via Automation feature in Jira

Prepare the JQL ( Advanced Search ) to list the issues which you want to bulk edit

Create an Automation rule with schedule trigger with JQL you have prepared 

And one that is done edit the field to copy the source from the triggered issue

You would need either project admin role and Jira Admin role to create and Automation rule

Have a look around in the Automation rule and let me know if you have any query
