Calculate Date Based on Due Date

I created a custom, calculated date field (Requirements Due) that I want to populate with a date that is X days prior to the selected due date. However, I am a novice (at best) and getting lost in the BeanShell documentation. 

Can someone assist me with what I need to put into the custom field description to accomplish this?
