Mandatory field appearing when creating new issue

Hi there,

I have situation with a custom field which is added to a transition on statuses...like Reopened and the field ask for a reason of reopening when transitioning to other status. All this works fine, but when I mark the field as mandatory, and when you try to create new issue, it does not appear as a field but you got error that it is required as mandatory field ( I do not need the field there ). So at start I think that my problem is when the field was created, as it was asked to select the issue types for the field. Hope to explain this fine :)

Field configuration is used to make fields mandatory across your workflow right from create to close.

If you want to make any field mandatory at any particular transition only, then you can't use field configuration schema for the same. You can use validator(like fields required) in the workflow at that particular transition.
