Why is issue type description not displayed?

I've created my own field configuration where I edit descriptions for certain fields.

all of them seem to work except "Issue Type" one. I am running a relatively old JIRA instance (version 5.2) but this i cannot change because of a coorporate licence.

Any ideas why this happens?

Where do you want the description to appear. Is it during the issue creation or in the excel report.

It's the issue creation screen

The description does not display in the issue creation screen. I tested in 6+ version as well
