jira and confluce sacling differences

Hi,

We have installed JIRA and Confluence in docker container.

installed postgres database in a container for JIRA and mysql for Confluence.

Please let me know what are the different recommendations on scaling JIRA and Confluence.

Both scaling methods are same?

What are the different configurations need to be taken care on scaling JIRA and Confluence.

 

It will be great if I get answers for my questions.

There is no universal guide - each instance will be different and it largely depends on how you use it, what sort of data you store in it, amount of users, user activity, integrations, plugins, etc. everything has a different footprint.

There are some pages such as https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/performance-and-scaling-965568705.html, https://confluence.atlassian.com/enterprise/scaling-jira-data-center-939699677.html, https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/performance-and-scale-testing-965568707.html and you would probably find a couple more more suitable to your current scale - but in the end it really varies.

E.g. sometimes you need to increase heap, sometimes cpu, sometimes ram, sometimes you might want to optimize/increase connection pools, etc., it depends what sort of problems you're observing and how you could diagnose it.

(P.S. Atlassian also have a couple troubleshooting guides to help out with the basics when you do run into some performance troubles.)
