Sprint formation

Question

Hello. I have some difficulties with forming a sprint. When I try to complete a sprint, I can't click on the button, and the message "You need permission to manage sprints for all projects on the source board to manage this sprint" appears. But I have administrator rights. Please help solve this problem, it is very necessary for our team. Thanks.

Hi @Shauntseva Bella ,

If you have the appropriate permission to manage the sprint of your project then your sprint is associated with more than one project.

I will suggest you to please run the below query to fetch the issues of other projects:

project != "your project name" and sprint = "current sprint which you want to close"

If you found the result then you need to check with admin for the access in others project if that belongs to same sprint, otherwise you need to remove these issues from the sprint to close that sprint but this will impact your reporting part.

If you the result is empty, then you need to check the couple things:

1. Filter Query of Scrum board project specified (shouldn't be complex).
2. Need to check the manage sprint permission and scrum board admin access

Welcome to Atlassian Community !!

This issue usually means you don't have "Manage Sprints" permissions.

First go to "Permissions scheme" in project settings and check which project roles have "Manage Sprints" Permission. then go back to project and add yourself to that role, that should grant you the permission to close the sprints.

One more point to be noted here if the board is configured for multiple projects (this can be checked in General Configuration in board settings) then you may have to add yourself to Manage Sprints Permission via project roles in all those projects.

Hi @Shauntseva Bella , you need to discuss with your admin to give you the necessary permissions. This can be found and updated under Project settings > permissions- Manage sprints
