How to make project admin or lead to choose project category?

I see that only Jira admin can edit project categories now. I want to know how to enable the project admins or leads to choose the project category for their projects. Please advise. Thank you.

To change Project Category, you have to be a member of a group, which do have Permission of Jira Administrator or Jira System Administrator.

Other members have had this issue and have raised a ticket if you would like to vote/watch the progress of the feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-71070
