How do I create a URL query for CURRENT/IN PROGRESS Program Increments?

Question

I manage information for my organization, and one of the most important functions I can perform is linking team members (and especially executives) to the appropriate charts and reports. However, I can't find a way to create a permanent link from our own knowledge base to a report for the "current" program increment for each train (that is, PIs that are "in progress").

I would think there would be a query I could append to the URL that would choose only PIs that are In Progress. For example:

https://xxxxx.jiraalign.com/ReleaseBurndown?Programs=19,30,31,44,40&Releases=current

...or something to that effect.

In the PI selector,  can see that there is some kind of "Status" that displays PIs as either [Planning], [In Progress], or [Done].

Is there some kind of way to call to that status in the URL query so that I could have a permanently functional link that will take users to the report for the current/in progress Program Increment?

Zach, I can see the value of your request. The challenge is interpreting status of a PI, as you can have more than one In Progress at the same time. It sounds like a simple query but it's just not how the values are currently passed via the URL.

You could certainly submit a feature request.

In the meantime, I would create a Confluence page that acts like a Rosetta Stone, with links to the PIs and date ranges. That allows users to set their own today context, regardless if the PI is past, current, or future. Another possibility is to add the current status of the PI's but that adds overhead for you or someone else to maintain.

Derek, thanks for taking the time to answer.

I understand how to refer to specific program increments; the problem is, eventually, there are so many PIs that telling people (esp stakeholders who don't use Align much/aren't familiar with our SAFe practices and nomenclature) to go in and filter by the current increments will leave many scratching their heads.

As it regards "today", that's why I'd love to be able to call to the status of the PI (as described in the question), since that is not related to time, but a specific status.

What I'm hearing is that this functionality doesn't exist, and instead should be submitted as a feature request?

the challenge is past, current, and future is relative to today's date. 
Today's date is not part of the URL string. 
To identify a specific date range, create a specific URL using the PI ID's in the URL string.

I find the ID's, navigate to the Program > Manage > Program Increment section in your left navigation.(note mine were renamed to Quarterly Increment)

Next, look for the ID that corresponds with the PI's you're looking for. 
Add the comma delimited ID of the PI in the URL, following "Releases="
