Jira 7.13.5 just stopped working

All.

Our Jira version 7.13.5 running on CentOS 6.9 just stopped working. A reboot of the VM (obviously) fixed the issue. There doesn't seem to be any indication in the log files that I have checked as to what Jira stopped working.

For example, in the catalina.log file I see that messages stopped at 19-Nov-2021 19:26:30.006 and then started once more after the boot.

How can this be debugged to find the root cause?

Increase the resources of VM and Increase the JVM Memory editing the File setenv.sh under bin folder in the Installation directory and restart the Server. Observer the changes and let me know the result.

I looked at the VM's resources for the time-frame around when Jira stopped and I don't see any spikes in CPU or memory. The VM has 8xvCPU and 64GB RAM.

Jira is being run with the following parameters:

java -Xms8192m -Xmx8192m

Is there any best practice as to how to better set the JVM resources?
